In Ayurveda, how Devdaru plant is used for various medicinal benefits { part 2 }
Benefits of Devdaru plant :
Asthma :

Devdaru helps to control the symptoms of asthma and gives relief in case of breathlessness. According to Ayurveda, the main doshas involved in asthma are Vata and Kapha. The vitiated ‘Vata’ combines with deranged ‘Kapha dosha’ in the lungs obstructing the respiratory passage. This results in difficulty in breathing. This condition is known as Swas Roga (asthma). Devdaru helps in balancing Kapha and Vata and removes excess mucus from the lungs. This gives relief from the symptoms of asthma.
Mitigates Blood Disorders :
In addition, taking it internally can effectively improve liver function. Deodar is also an excellent remedy for vascular disorders, excessive bleeding, and infections in the blood such as sepsis.
Osteoarthritis :
Devdaru is useful in Osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis occurs due to an aggravation of Vata dosha and is known as Sandhivata. It causes pain, swelling, and difficulty in moving. Deidara has Vata balancing properties and gives relief from the symptoms of osteoarthritis-like pain and swelling in the joints.
Manages Urinary Tract Problems :

Urinary tract problems known as Purpura and Dysuria cause urinary urgency and frequency, which can lead to chronic kidney failure.
Devadarvarishta and Chandraprabha Vati made from Deodar herbal plants are also used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat these urinary tract disorders. Methods of preventing urinary tract infections using Deodar and dealing with their effects are written in detail in the ancient medical literature known as Prameha.
Obesity :
An increase in weight is due to unhealthy food habits and lifestyle which leads to a weak digestive fire. This increases the accumulation of Ama causing an imbalance in Meda dhatu and thus resulting in obesity. Deidara is useful to control obesity as it helps improve metabolism and reduce Ama. This is due to its Deepan (appetizer) and Pachan (digestive) properties.
Alleviates Backache :
Topical formulas made with Deodar are very helpful in treating back pain after childbirth and during menstruation. In addition, its juice is taken orally to relieve back pain and strengthen the spinal cord.
A Good Utero-Tonic :
The uterus is strengthened and its health is improved when the Himalayan cedar bark extract is taken regularly with the proper advice. When taking Deodar products internally, some of the active compounds present in it stimulate the release of eggs from the ovary.
This spontaneous process can effectively treat uterine dysfunction, Amenorrhoea, Leucorrhoea, Anovulation, Dysmenorrhea, etc.
